After being thoroughly cleaned, the K70 pistol was
test fired and functioned normally. Due to the damaged
condition of the K69 pistol, restoration of this pistol
to a:comt@ition suitable for test firing was not deemed
pract icable. Therefore, the slide, extractor and firing
pin of the K69 pistol were substituted on the K70 pistol
frame) for test firing purposes.

K70 pistols were microscopically compared to the .380
Auto caliber (9mm Short) Super Vel cartridge case recovered from
‘the floor of the station wagon (specimen Q19, Laboratory
report PC-K5273 PR JA, dated February 28, 1974) and the
unfired .380 Auto caliber Super Vel cartridge cases
= recovered from the hallway closet at 1827 Golden Gate
y Avenue, San Francisco, California (specimens 01047 and
ng Q1048, Laboratory report PC-K7449 PRs dated May 24, 1974).
As a result of these comparisons the 019
cartridge case was identified as having been fired in the .
K7D pistol, Serial Number 0126377.
8mm PISTOL (Specimen R72) .

_ - Specimen K72 is a 9mm Browning “Hi-Power," Model 1935
semiautomatic pistol which bears Serial Number-71C36517. The
barrel of this pistol is rifled with six lands and grooves, |
right twist (land width=.080 inch, groove width=.100 inch).
Specimen K72 is very corroded. For the purpose of
obtainine test-fired bullets and cartridge cases, the barrel,
Slide, firing pin and ejector were removed, cleaned and

Test bullets, cartridge cases and cartridges
obtained from the K72 pistol were microscopically compared
to the twenty-five cartridges recovered from Apartment #4,
i 2603 Benvenue Street, San Francisco, California (specimens Ql
- and Q2, Laboratory report PC-K5225 PV JA PR, dated February 28,
