This group had booked . 06 return flight 800 which would depart Zurich, Switzerland::on 4/6/62, b7¢ WTO stopover in London, Engtand and would arrive Idlewild on On 4/2/62 Detective, eax hires of Special Services, NYC Police Department, Furnishe ist of the names and addresses of the delegates of WISP who boarded flight 801. Shown on this list was Carlotta King aka Mrs. Martin Luther King, Jr. 563 Johnson Avenue N.E. Atlanta, Ga., Passport No. C 224842. 62-107350-109 p.5 at) 107350 9 pel 2) P. In reference to above the Atlanta Office was requested to - furnish information maintained in their files pertaining to King. This Office advised that the 3/27/62 issue of "The Atianta Journal" carried an article entitled "Lillian Smith, Georgia Writer, To Be Honored" which pertained to an autograph tea to be held at the Atlanta Biltmore on 3/31/62. King was Listed as a hostess for this affair. This reference identified Smith as a member of the SOcialist Party, Workers Defense League and a member of the National Board of the American Civil Liberties Union. (25 107350-113 p.1 and enci. p.1 SI 157-370-2-75 encl. pol tidy? enc p.: _ The 4/7/62 issue of the "People's World" published an article entitled "Women Deliver Peace Message to Geneva" which pertained to the "Women's International Strike for Peace’ (62-107350) delegation which fiew to Geneva to protest the testing of mhuclear weapons. Mrs. Martin Luther King, Jr.,was. in this delegation. These women were received by the Soviet delegation chiefs at the Geneva conference, Soviet Depity Foreign Minister Valerian Zorin and Semyon K,.
