Awards Progran Policy Guide
3.Policy Statement.
Pursuant to Tite 5 United States Code (U.S.C.) Chapter 45, the FBl may pay a monetary award
grant time off, or incur necessary expenses for the honorary recognition of an employee
(individually or as a member of a group). The FBt Awards Program allows managers to formally
recognize enployees who make significant contributions to the FBI mission or to effective
government operations or to both through the issuance of monetary and nonmonetary awards
Recognition is intended for work that exceeds expected pertormance. Nonmonetary, honorary
awards are also given to recognize members of the LE community and IC and, in rare
circumstances, members ot the public and private sectors for their outstanding contributions to
the FBl mission
