Stadium prior to the night baseball game. MAnrle stated that
he received the threatening letter at the Stadium on the pre
yig day and, after readins it. he turned it over to.
MANTIE stated
that hu does not have any suspects as to the sender of the.
letter and, as far as he can recall, he does not have any
acquaintances in Tonawanda, New York. He stated that this
is the first threatening letter that he has ever received
and he is quite concerned about it. MAnrie stated that he
has been thinking about the letter and about getting shot by.

the rooftop on one of the buildings surrounding Yankee Stadium
and take a shot at him. Manrie stated that he does receive a
lot of fan mail, both laudatory and critical, but this is the
first really bad or disturbing letter which he has ever received.
MAnTlE was advised that the FBI could not furniah any
bodyguard or police protection for hin; however, in the event
that he does receive additional threatening letters, he should
immediately report the matter to the FBI.
