AIRTEL Via (Priority) TO: DIRECTOR, FBI FROM: SAC, WFO (161-267) HENRY ALFRED KISSINGER SPI The following investigation was conducted by SA. ROBERT P. CRONIN on 9/5/73: Brigadier General BRENT ScQwCRoFT, Deputy Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs, advised that he has known the appointee on a professional basis since December of l97l. At that time, General ScowcRoFT was the Military Assistant to the President and Mr. KissinGER served in his present capacity. General scowcRorr has had a much closer professional relationship with KissINGER since January of this year when he became his Deputy. He described the appointee as a dedicated, loyal, patriotic American. General ScowcRoFT has a very high regard for the appointee,. both professionally and personally. He knows of absolutely nothing unfavorable concerning him and would recommend him. for a position of confidence and trust with the government. PETER,RoDMAN, Staff Assistant, Nationa1'Security. Council, advised that he has known HENRy KIssINGER on a professional basis since l963. At that time, RODMAN was a student of the appointee's at Harvard. He maintained professional contact with KIssingER since that time and has occasionally performed various research projects for him. RoDmAN has served as a member of the Nsc Staff since the beginning'of the NIxoN Administration. He described KIssINGER as a thoroughly qualified individual. He has no question whatso- ever concerning his loyalty and he would recommend him for a. position of confidence and trust..
