BUDENZ then mentioned that there were many other names 5 who figured

asked the advice of the Chairman if he should name before such nanes were given

be referred to outside of Executive Session and that the Comittee did not wish
to thwart the efforts of the F. 3B. I. in any investigation that it might have.

graphed and that because of this fact he was entitling a new book which he was ~

name of JG:PYSERVICE arpears. He stated that S:PYICE had been referred to in |
Communist discussions as LATTI’CRE's pupil. B8YDINZ said he mentioned this but that
he did not heve any other information concerning SZ VICE.

LATIDICRE' nane to any agency of the goverment and BUDENZ stated that he had
mentioned LATTIORE's nane to the Ff, B. I. a couple of days before the Camittee
had examined the F. B. I. report. He stated that this was sonetime in March
of this year. He pointed out at that time that he had been tied up chiefly with
giving concentrated information to the F, Be I. about the 11 Camunist Party
leaders, He then explained that he had not previously given this informetion to
the F, 3. I, because his interviews with the F. 3, Te had dealt principally
with the 11 Carunists,

He stated that in most of his interviews with the F. 3, Ie, they concerned
cases which were under prosecution, He then explained that the names which he
had and wich he knew to be Camunist Party members had not yet been conpletedy
that there were 00 names which he wished to be turned over to the F. B. I. He
stated that he had about 200 names available at this time. He said he was
deliberate in his handling of these names because of their importance. He stated
that as soon as he had the list canpleted, he would first make it available to “
