Synopsis: To provide receiving offices and divisions with a
summary of events leading to the identification of subjects.
Receiving offices are also being requested to canvass mosques,
prayer rooms and assets and informants regarding the subjects
involved to date.
Details: Since 10/2/02, the Washington, D. C., and Richmond,
Virginia, regions were the scene of a series of 14 shootings
committed by an individual/individuals armed with a weapon
capable of firing a .223 round of ammunition. This series of
shootings resulted in the following:
10 deaths
3 wounded
1 shot through a store window
