which contained a letter signed by Robert J. Miller, M.D.,
Evansville, Ind. The letter, which was captioned "Connunist
Tinge to Court Ruling, ” pointed out that tndividuals, whose
advice and writings had been followed by the Supreme Court,
had numerous communist front citations. Roy Wilkins,
Executive Secretary of the NAACP, who was credited with
having nine communist front citations, was included among the
individuals named.

The "New York Herald Tribune" on 8-15-56 carried the
column ‘Matter of Fact" by Joseph and Stewart Alsop on page
14, under the caption "Civil Rights and Mr. Wilkins." The
article, which was datelined, Chicago, was devoted to a dis-
cussion of Roy Wilkins as the key figure tn the Civil Rights
tissue at the 1956 Democratic Convention. It was indicated
that Wilkins was ererting his influence tn a controlled and
reasonable manner despite his bitterness which was sometines
evident.
