* Sedan over to the dealer at Little Rock, but when pressed for details
of how it came into his possession, he said that he had not seen the
car since Galatas left town in it(about June 17, 1038}. It was not
thought by the Agents to be advisable to question Informant A too close-
ly in regard to these mattera, or to appear suspicious of his truthful-
ness.
The Informant was questioned regarding various ao-
tivities of Subject Louise Conner in connection with this ease. He ez-
pressed the opinion that she was innocent of eny connection with the
case, other than that her telephone hed been used. In that connection,
he said that the Conner apartment at Hot Springs was left open so that
anyone could have used the telephone without her knowledge. Later, he
amplified the statement to the effect that after the crimes at Kansas
City, Galatas asked Mrs. Conner what she was going to do; when she re-
marked that she was not going to do anything, Galatas told her that
she had better leave town, as her telephone had been used in placing
certain calle in connection with the case. He etated that she and her
brotherinlaw, a. J. Conner, then immediately got out of the apartment.
The informant added that he understands Mre. Conner has an alibi to
prove she was not in the apartment when the telephone calls were nade.
He commented that in his opinion *Lou" imew less about what had happened
than he did. This last remark may be very true, since 1t appears that
Informant 4 had quite a definite connection with Galates in assiting hin.
after the apprehension of Nash.
It will be noted from the report of Special agent
W. F. Trainor, dated Kansas City, Mo., 11-21-33, that while in custody
at Memphis, Tennessee, Mre. Conner denied that Galatas had in any way
informed her that she should leave Hot Springs, arkansas, after the
massacre of June 17th.
In reference to 4. J mner, brotherinlaw of Subject
Mrs. Conner, Informant 4 said that the f Tr was “just a kid",who know
nothing about the affairs of Galetas and others, and in whom no trust
was placed. He said that he understood that A. J. Conner has been living
in Knobel, Arkansas.
Pursuant to information recently given by Special
Agent andersen telephonically, it a;pears that a. J. Conner is not * just
a kid,® since it appears that only recently at Hot Springs, Arkansas,
