mained silent. The man who talked asked him whether or not he had ©
seen the shooting, and he atated that he had. The man then asked
him whether or not he could identify anyone who had done the shoot-
ing, and he stated that he did not know for sure. The individual —
then informed him that if he could so identify, it would beboove .
. him to remain silent at all times, and he pointed to the dead body -- =
of Frank Nash lying in the car of agent Caffrey and stated that —
. Nash had done too much talking, which was the cause of his having ~~”
been killed. Clark stated thag the man who had addressed him re--..- ..
sembled very closely Jamea(Fur}Garmons, frequently mentioned in ~~ :
this case, and who is now in custody at Crown Point, Indiana. He
atated that he viewed Fur Sanmons personally at the office of the
a Sheriff, Kansas City, Missouri, during the latter part of June, can
oa - 1935, at which time Sammons was in custody. That at the time in |
question, he believed that Sammons was the man who hed addressed

as a man about forty-five years of age, about five feet, seven te
inches in height, weighing about one hundred sixty pounds, with
dark complexion, small bleck muztache and black hair. He stated -
that the man was hatless and wore a brown knitted golf sweater 7
