The witnesses viewed the prisoners in & man-" ner that would not unfairly expose any of the prisoners to identi-~ ° fications unless actually recognized by the witnesses. Arrangements were made with the wardens to have the prisoners in question mingle’. with a dozen other men of similar tges and descriptions. Care was. taken to have no prisoners in the group, other then Clark, Brady, .“ Kelly, Bates and Bailey, who were not in the pmmitentiaries as of. June 17, 1933. At each of the institutione visited, the wardena - eaused the various prisoners to file in individually, stand for an instant béfore the witnesses, tum the profile and front views and. then leave the room.
