4 cs The Kensas City Office received inforastion to the effect that
Officer Scott at Hot Springs, Arkeansee, furnished information to a Deputy
United States Marshel to the effect that Galatas is now in Reno, Nevade.
Officer John Scott wes diecreetly interviewed, and edvised thet he had no
inforration relative to the whereabouta of Galetas. He scid that something
like two years ago when things beceme “too hot" in Eot Springa it was hie
understending that Galatas went to Reno where he "cooled off". Scott in-
formed that through rast conversetions with Galates he had learned that
the latter at one time was interested in some of the big reteil motor
eozpanies at Detroit, Michigan. He expressed hia view that Galatas might
of be in Detroit. As a matter of record, it might be noted thet Scott apparently
is not in good standing with tke Police Departaent at Hot Springs.
At the Little Rock Police Department Major J. A. Pitcock, Chief
Detective, was interviewed and advised that his first information relative
to tke capture of Neoh at Hot Springe came from a telephone conversation
which he had with "Dutch" Akers at about 1:50 P.K. on June 16th. Major
Pitcock had been to lunch and the call wae received by him at e pool room
At that time he bad no information relative to the fact that his Department
bad been requested to intercept pereons alleged to have kidzapped a man at
Eot Springs. Ee ascertained, from contact with his office, that Captain ©
Martin and other detectives had already cone to the Highwey in response to
@ previous call from Eot Springs. Major Pitcock had no further personal
converautions with Hot Springe, or anyone else relative to the nattere
Ba jor Pitcock advised that his desk man, Lieutenant Scroggins, would probably
have more information in the matter, and he wae accordingly interviewed and
