In addition to the above items there was obtained @ torn card
conteining meaningless writing and a blotter which might show infomm tion ~
of value if examined under proper lighting.
Fred Cobbs, a negro employed by Er. Mendel, was interviewed, aa
was the young grandson of kr. Mendel. It was determined that Mra. Conner
had a Chevrolet Seden, about 1971 or 1922 model, with Xew York licenses,
She had several bags and trunks, all of which, however, were brought to
the premises in her car and were apparently removed in the eame manner. —
The young man who stayed with her, reported to be her brother-in-law, was
observed on occasions to walt in front of the apartment for someone with
bie golf clubs. During the latter part of her stay Kre. Conner also had
@ young girl with her, about 12 to 15 years of age, reported to have joined
Mrs. Conner after the completion of the echool year. Mra. Conner had a
negro cook, and efforts are being made to locate her for interview, No
other information of value wea obtained by Acents.
It having been reported thet the niece of Kres Conner had at one
time been placed in a convent in Little Rock, inquiry wae made at Kite
St. Mary{e, located in Puleski Heights, Little Rock. It wea ascertained
from the Mother Superior thet a girl named Janice Cobby had been brought
to the Convent by her aunt from Hot Springs on January 3, 1951, and finished
the school term. Her aunt indicated that she would return the next year,
“put she did not do so. Agents were advised thet no further information
concerning thie girl were available, dut that Sister Fidelis, now at Sisters
of Mercy, Webater Groves, near St. Louis, Missouri, would be the pergon most
likely to have cbtained infomation as to the personal history of the girls

kre. katt Picchi, The girl was beptized January 1, 1931. Father Carroll
advised thet apparently the Conners were not Catholics, He stated that the
girl came to see him recently in Kot Springs, and he underatood that she —
hae been attending school at or near Dallas, Texas. She would undoubtedly
attend a Catholic School. (Mra. Piechi fa the wife of the proprieta of
the White Front Cigar Store, and eccordingly was not interviewed.)
It is noted that previovue information has been received concern-.
ing the possible connection of the Conners at Knobel, Arkansas, and it is

formation has been given to Agents by persone contacted which indicates
that Galdae may heve a place in Southern Missouri, the information being
