show the receipt of a money transfer on April 13, 1933, in the amount of
$40.00 for Galatas from Charles Vogel, Daytona Beach, Florida. This was-
paid with draft No. W-680065, and the wire we addressed to Galatag in
care of White Front Cigar Store. hr. Schmuibach's recollection ia that he
was informed at the time that Galatas had advanced money to Vogel to go
hame from Hot Springs. .
On July 18th efforts were made by Agente to determine fram the
office of the Commissioner of Revenue ‘at the State Capitol, Little Rock,
data concerning the automobiles registered in the neme of Galatas. However,
it was found that the office was closed for Election Daye -
Inquiry was accordingly made at Madison~-Smith Kotor Conmany,
Cadillac dealers in Little Rock, where it was ascertaired that Galates
purchased a Cadillac 12 cylinder Sedan, hiotor Number 1002193, on April
9, 1021. This car was described on the cotpany's records as being black,
with six black wire wheels, two in fender wells, having tire mirrors and
@ radiator ornament. It was further determined from the records of the
Service Departzent that thie car was serviced in Lay 1935, gnd thet it
bore Arkanses 1953 license 798-657. In an effort to learn the license
on the Ford owned by Gelatas, inquiry was made at the Hamp-Williers Motor |
Company, Ford dealers in Hot Springs. However, they heave no record of ti
_. ‘the liceree number, end further inquiry will be made in Little Rock in
- this regerd.
It wes subsezuertly ascertained at the office of the Commissioner
of Revenue, Stete Cepitol, Little Rock, that the Arkanses License noted
above wae issued to Lire. Elizabeth Golstas, 107 Harreil, Hot Springs,
for the Cadillac Sedan described. This license was issued Februery 11,
1655 on application number 42090, It ae further ascertained that on
application number 42061, dated Fe ry 11, 1933, Arkeaneas 19233 license
nurber 98656 was issued to Richard’Golates, 107 Farrell, Hot Springs, for
— Ford Coupe, 1952 model, motor number 16-86081.
Contact was had by Agente at Hot Springs with Charles W. MeKkeill,
Ire, adjuster for the C. I. T. Corporetion, with reference to hie efforts
to locate Galateas in connection with delinquent payments due MeNeill's
company. He advieed that he has been unable to locate either Galatea or
the cer, but is continuing his efforte. In the event of any succese he
will advise the Kansas City Office of the Bureau through hie Little Rock
office. ,
It waa ascertained that Galatas had a negro reid named Largaret
Nerd, and she was interviewed at her residdnce, 119 King Street, Hot
Springs. She advised thet it Ja her understending that the Galatas family
is only temporarily absent from Hot Springs, and that she will work for
