lived at times at the Woodcock Apartments, and thet this is the only reason
for inferring a connection outside of the date of the transfer. ira, Brady

Mr. Nobles further advised that he has a recollection of an exe
change of wires-some montha ago in which Galatas figured, which indicated
that sameone was in trouble in Florida, and wired Gelatas. He, in turn,
wired someone in EKanaes City, who replied that he was communicating with
Chicago to fix the matter. He advised that because of the method of
filing meseages in hia office, it would not be possible to locate these
telegrams without several days work. Should it be determined that such
a search is warranted hr. Kobles can arrange to have it made by one of
his employees if the Bureau desires to compensate the employee so engaged.
It wae determined that the telegram mentioned in a preceding
memorandum charged to the telephone of Galatas on March 11, 1923, was
directed to Galatas in care of an air transport company in Burbank, In
this connection Agents were advised by hr. Nobles that bis understanding
is that Galatas’ mother's home in'Long Beach, Celifornia, wae in the
earthquake zone, and was demolishéd in the quake of karch. Galatas flew
out to her, and subsequently ahe came to Hot Springs to visit her son.
Galatas’ mother ia Mre. I. M.jGelatas, and Kr. Nobles located a telegram
to her in care of the Sunset Limited at ElPaeo, March 14, 1935, whieh
confirmed the fact that she came to Hot Springs.
Tt 1a aleo well to note here that this woman hed not returned
to Long Beach at the time of the departure of Galatas from Kot Springa,
and possibly left Hot Springs with him. It is also noted that the mother
of Kre. Galatas had been visiting with Galatas for probably nine or ten
aaa monthe, and was there on the date of the departure. The name of thia
women Was given to Agente as hrs. keFadden by the colored maid employed
by Galatas, but efforts to confirm this name have been unsuccessful.
She 1s reported to have come to Hot Springs from Detroit. It is aleo
reported that Ers. Galatas' sister visited her during 1952 with severe) —
children, and that she came fram Detroit, hichigan, and probably resides

hr. E. Le Schmulbach, Manager, Peatal Telegraph Company, Hot Springs,
examired hie records at Agents' request, and advised that there is no record
of any tranafers to Keeh under his known aliases during the past several
months, He steted that KMra- Galatas hes from time to time wired money
to their son, Fat Sturney, at the University of Alabama, these wires show-
