Mr. Sims also eacertained through inquiry of Mrs. Higgins, in the safe | |--
deposit department of the bank, that Galeatas has a bor in the name of ,
G. T, Richards. Mrs. Higgins 1a positive that Richards is Galatas, and
@ comparison of the two signatures indicates that they are identical.
The box ite in the name of Mr. and Mra. Richards, and was acquired Sept.
£6, 1951. Originally they held one of the largest sized bozes, but now
have a smaller box, rent being paid until September, 1935. The last
Visit to the box.was mde by "Mra. Richaries® at 12:42 P.M., June 16, 1935.
Mre. Higsgine also produced a record phowing that aafe deposit box Bo. 9¢
Was acquired May 5, 1053, by a. 7.Yonner and LouJConner, giving the ad-
dress of 176 Cedar Street. 4. J. Conner was introduced as the brother
in-lew of Mre. Conner. The box was visited on June 14, 1935, and on July
12, 1933, by Mrs. Conner, the last visit being at 5:45 P.M., and the box
being given up on that date. Mrs. Higgins describes Mre. Conner as
about 35, with blue eyes, blond-hennaed hair, attractive and a good
dresser. .
Mr. Sims was furnished the address of the Kansas City office and promised
to advise upon the receipt of any information as to the location of Gala-
tas, either through checks drawn by him or otherelee. a
-- &t the ariansas Trust Company, Mr. N. J. Henderaon, President, end
Mr. D. Jackson, Assistant Cashier, were interviewed, and advised that
Geletas had formerly had an account and a safe deposit box at their ine
etitution, but had closed the account and given up the box in March,
1932. The banks records contain no personal history of Galetas, but
Mr, Jackson recalls that he probably came to Hot Springs from Calie
fornia, as be recalls that some bonds were forwarded to the bank from
some city in California for Galatas. The account with this tank averaged
about £2 or S hundred dollars. _
It was ascertained that the premises at 176 Cedar Street consist of «
bungalow, the rental of which is in the hands of Mra. George Hutton,
178 Cedar Street. She was interviewed and advised thet the Conners
lived with her some years ago, but have not been there recently. She
atated that she always liked Mre. Conner, despite her connection with
persons of questionable character. Mrs. Hutton stated that the Conners
have spoken to her of a farm they own in the North-eastern part of srkan-
sas, or the soutbern part of Missouri, but she is unable to recall its. are
