after returning from Galveston I interviewed He C. Howell ve i at his residence, 710 East 1001/2 Street, Houston, where Fred Kohur was present, visiting Howell. Mr. Howell stated that Mr. Harrell gave him the story on June 11th when be was visiting et his house, and that he in turn informed Fred Kohut about what -Harre}} had related to him, Bowell stated thet at time Harrell ~_ informed him anout the matter, he firmly believed that he was telling him the truth, but Harrell then told him he could not show him the gun as he had it in his baggage, which he had checked. _ thru to Galveston. Horell stated that while Harrell] is prona to joke with his friends, he firmly believed him to be telling the truth when he related the story about the man giving him the gune Mee oY I informed Mr. Kohut in the presence of Mr, How 11 that i no be had any more information he desired to furnish to the Bureau, he should report it to the Resident Agent in Houston or to the Special . Agent in Charge at San Antonio, and not fumish same direct to the °°.-— . Bureau, as the San antonio Uftice would conduct such investigation _ as the Tatts merit. This information 4s being furnished in nenorandum form, as pe I 40 not believe you requixe a report, but desire to furnish the information obtained in letter form to the Bureau.
