He stated it was aiso possible that drivers were changed on at least one occasion, but BENENSON could not be certain on this point” . either. ‘ . ; _ BENENSON was threatened on several occasions... At one point, subsequent to the first stop where equipment was loaced into the car as described above, someone in the “cay said something about, "Sticking a knife in his ribs". BENENSON believed one of the voices he heard in the car during his abduction was that of a Negro male. The phrase "Be cool" was uttered on several occasions and possibly by the man who sounded like a Negro male. BENENSON noted that the people in the car talked in short, cryptic phrases, apparently being careful not to say anything which might help identify them at a later date. At one point someone suggested getting some identification from him in case he “blabs too much". BENENSON was patted down previously but the wallet in his jacket pocket was not found. BENENSON noted that the persons searching him did not conduct a very thorough search and possibly may have been distracted by some other activities. The drive following the first stop, as described above, lasted approximately 20 minutes". dust before the car Stopped again BENENSON heard someone in the car mention a “mustard colored car in front of the house". Another voice Stated, "Don't worry about it, it's been there all day". BEN- ENSON believed that it was at approximately the time of this latter stop. that he heard mention of the “potato masher” or possibly “my potato masher". At the time of the latter stop he heard a voice instruct, "If he moves slit his throat". BENENSON noted that he did not feel the pressure of any gun _ or knife against him at any time during the course of his blindfolded trip. , During the course of the interview on the below date . BENENSON was shown the residence and driveway at 2603 Benvenue ‘Street. It was pointed out to BENENSON by Agents that the Griveway in front of the house was fairly steep. He acknowledged this fact but stated he could not recall specifically whether or not the car backed up or parked on a hill after the latter Stop. le-did have the feeling that one person was left in the ‘Car with him while the others left the car at the time of that Stop. He believed the person remaining with him in the car. on 38
