Attached hereto is a clipping from the 6/2/66 edition of the "New York Times" reflecting that the New York State Insurance Department. had "recovered" union welfare funds of Local 815 of the InternatiomlBrotherhood of Teamsters. The article reflects that GSORGE-BARASCH had control of these funds and administered them through the Churchill Associates. BARASCH in 1965, took the Fifth Amendment "almost 200 times" before the Senate Investigation subcommittee when questioned about the funds. On 7/10/6 2 2 o , wno has furnisned reliable in- turmation in the past, advised that while BARASCH resigned as & trustee of the union fund he did maintain control througn the Churchill Associates. Accoreing ‘o—_ BARASCH used the income from these n or funds for his salary a "educational purposes". These “educational purposes” consisted holding seminars or small cultural affairs usually at the Americana Hotel, New York City, with a limited number of guests present. related that in 1965, after BARASCH had taken the Fifth Amendment as noted above, he (BARASCH) was chairman of a seminar sponsored by the Churchill Associates at which Senator EUGENE J.
