It was reported that a had broken a window in
a UFW van, but claimed this was because UFW members
backed up the van and he = had bruises on his hand
and shoulder to prove it. He denied pointing a gun,
but his account of the incident was disputed by UFW

that the UFW has asked for an investigation by the
FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice...."

that a telegram had been received which was signed av

events surrounding grape and lettuce boycotts at
Fazio's Supermarket, Dayton, Ohio, November 2, 1974,
and claimed that Fazio's management had conspired with
the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office te violate
civil and Constitutional rights of peaceful UFWw
pickets by illegally taking away their right of
free speech.
The telegram went on to say that UFW members
and supporters had been arrested in a totally arbitrary
manner, based not on law, but on discrimination,
management bias, and vindictiveness; that peaceful
demonstrators had been arrested in the process of
dispersing, some of whom were pulled from a van
while trying to obey officers’ orders to leave the
scene,
The telegram stated that one deputy, without
provocation, maliciously amashed the window of a UFW
van, threatened people in a careless and dangerous
manner with a gun and club and showed all outward
signs of drunkenness, including alcohol on his breath
and reckless, disorderly conduct.
