Hifle number 252660, and Colt 45 Automatic 575995, have been identified as having
bem stolen from Company E, 129th Infantry, Illinois National Guard, April 19,
1933, at Fletteville, Illinois, A search of the Postel Guide feils to show any
Platteville, Illinois. The St. Louis Office should therefore ascertain from the
Adjutant Genoral of the State the location of Company E, 129th Infantry, and there
interview Commanding Officer of said organization with respect to the loss of these
guns, end ascertain whethar any of the other guns indicated in this report are listed
as having bem stolen from said organizations
All of the gums listed in this report have been examined by Me As
Gill, Forensic Ballistician of Kansas City, Missouri, in an effort to determine
whether any of them were used in the Union Station massacre at Kansas City June —
17, 193%s Mre Gill has advised this office that none of the guns taken from the
Barrows were used in the killing at the Union Stations.
Agent Os Ce Dewey mde investigation in the vicinity of Iowa
after tho Barrow gang had fled from Platte City. The results of his investigation
in that vicinity are as follows:
This investigation is predicated upon tnformation received from
the County Attorney and Sheriff at Mt, Ayr, Lowa, that they had picked up some
blood soaked clothing a short distance north of Calodonis, Iom, ond believed
samo might have belonged to the parties wounded in the encouter with police south
of Platte City, Missouri, on the night of July 19, 1952.
Agent examined the bloody clothing being held by the Sheriff's
office at Mt, Ayr, lowe, which had been partly burned. The clothing consiated
of a pair of men's trousers, shirt, shorts and one sock, all of which were very
bleodys It was particularly noticed that around the walet and insi¢e seat of tho
trousers there was considerable blood, ani thet one sock wes very bloody, which
might indicate thet thie man was wounded above the waist, and possibly in one leg
whieh caused the blood to rum into his sock while seated in the care The woman's
germents consisted of « light blue with white polka dots, pair cf house pajamas,
which was burned in spots and covered with blood, also step-ins covered with blood,
and a pink rayon slip which sppears to have been used to stop the flow of blood
from possibly the woman, Also found ea copy of the "Country Gentleman" magazine
whick was cpened and apparently used by someone to sit on es it was covered with
blood,» From the outside cover was secured the address slip "Fay He White, Yale,
Tae"
Agent interviewed Mr. ani Mrss Te Ae Booth, et their store at
Caledonia, Iowa, a small community consisting of about three stores. Mr. Booth
gtated that about 9:50 o'clock on the morning of July 20, 1955, a black V=8

@ young man, wearing light trousers, white shirt, and hat, welked into the estore —
and stated that he had run out of gas north of town and wanted to know if he could
