L, Phillips, AF-GAP Liaie Officer, Kirtland Fid., Lt Allen Clark, Intel cer, B, Mex. Wing CAP, and Inspectors Jeffers and MoQuigam, ANC Security Service (Los Alamos, ¥. .) who them timed duration of fireball wich ranged from 2.1 seconis to 2.3 sec. The path of the green ball was aluost exactly horizontal (altituie estimated as only 3 or ' degrees) until gust a tenti: of a second or so before it dieappe.red. During the last one or two tenths of a cecond of its viel- dility @ slight but definite curvature downerd developed in its path, From the very beginning the ball was very bright. Immediate comparison with Serius (at a mach greater altitude than the green fireball) indicates that during all but the last one or two tenths of a second of the firebali's visibility {t was at leact of apperent asgnitude ~! (minus four). Just as curvature in ite path developed, the magnitwie of the fireball rose elightly and it broke up into tHree or ay a bat still bright green fragnents wich di: ered almost instontly. Although Lt Clark stopped the car the meent te fireball disappenred amd the Sccupants then stood outside the oar and listened for meteoritic detonations nothing was beard.
