October 27, 1947, unti1 December 26, 1947, applicant worked for Radio
Station WJEL, Springfield, Ohio, as an announcer and engineer. His rating
here was "excellent." From May 29, 1948, unt1l July 24, 1948, applicant
worked for Radio Station wMRn, Marion, Ohio, as a musical director and
announcer. On this Job applicant was rated e.s "excellent. From October
30, 1948, until December 17, 1948, and again from January 3, 1949, until
June 16, 1949, he worked as Station and Program Director, and as a writer
and producer for a former small station here at the college called the
Antioch Broadcasting Station. No rating was available for this work, but
Miss DIckINsON stated that he did an excellent job in all respects. From
June 20, l949, until August 29, 1949, applicant did free lance work in the
writing field nere at the college, and Miss DickiNsoN stated that applicant
did an excellent job in this field cf work also.
A further employment not in the writing field in which appli-
cant had as a student was at Canp Treetops, Lake Placid, New York, from.
July 28, 1947, until August 28, 1947. He worl:ed here a8 a counselor and re-
ceived an unsatisfactory rating during this period..
Miss DIckINsoN further advised that she knew applicant
very well. as a student and resident at this ccllege during the above period.
She said applicant was an active and well liked student by both faculty
members and fellow students; that he was very talented in the writing field,
and that she would recommend him without reservations as to character, the
type friends and associates he maintained, and as to his loyalty to the
United States.
Mr. J. DurLEy DAwsON, Director of Personnel, Antioch College,
campus, and that he has met applicant's parents. He said that applicant re-
ceived an unsatisfactory rating during his emp..oyment period at Camp Treetops,
Lake Placid, New York, due to his poor judgment. in associations with his
present wife at this camp when they were both single students and co-op em
ployees during the summer of l947. He said that applicant and his wife were
not married at the time, freshman students, ano very much in love, and that
they spent too much time together in ront of the children at the camp,
which the camp personnel did not approve of. He said that he does not feel
that anything out of the way occurred at the canp, but does agree that appli-
during that sumner. Mr. Dawson stated that he would recommend applicant in
every respect. He further advised that applicant's wife is also well known
a very loyal American who nas excellent character traits.
