Numerous attempts were made by the aforementioned agents with the assistance of FBI Las Vegas; however, could not be located. On 07/12/2006, FBI Las Vegas located and interviewed him concerning the extortionate threats made against Congressman Ney. During that interview, denied making any extortionate threats or threats to harm Congressman Ney. ladvised FBi Las Vegas that he did have personal issues with the Congressman which he intended to pursue through an attorney. also expressed an interest in providing. further information to the FBi regarding Congressman Ney.. On 07/28/2o06, writer contacted Assistant United States. Attorney AUSA advised that they are b6 threats due to lack of evidence and venue. AusA b7C further stated that while the extortionate threats originated in Ohio, the AusAo in the District of Columbia was pursing the matter based on the fact that Congressman Ney would be able to capture incriminating information regarding the threat in Dc. Since venue could not be established, her office would be unable to pursue the matter in DC. Inasmuch as AusA has declined prosecution,. Congressman Ney and his Chief of Staff. have declined assistance with this investigation based on the advice of their counsel, and all evidence related to this investigation has been placed in 1A envelopes, wFo is requesting that this investigation be closed.
