HOFFMAN had indicated his intention to return immedtately
to his residence in New York City, New York.
On December 16, 1970, the "Chicago Daily News,”
carried an article entitled "Abbie 'Good,' Leaves Jail 2 Days
Early." The article quoted RICHARD ENGLISH, Superintendent of
CCJ, as stating "He was a good prisoner. We've had him here
before and he has never caused trouble."
According to this article, HOFFMAN had worked in
the jail's kitchen during his period of confinement. After
his release he had picked up some personal items at the
office of his local attorney, FREDERICK COHN, and then had
flown directly to New York City. . .)

of the su viction on November 20, 1968 in the Court of
General Sessions, District of Columbia on the charge of defiling
the American flag by wearing a shirt resembling the flag, was
argued on its merits before the Court or December 18, 1970. The
subject's attornies have filed a post-argument memorandum
before the Court and the Court has not as yet decided whether
or not to accept this memorandum. No decision has been reached by
the court concerning the merits of the case as argued.
