KC 100-New former linebacker for the St. Louis Carding in San Francisco, California, snoke next. MEGAYSSEY also spoke of the exnloitation of athletes, especially in collese, and a college foothall player works at about the rate of 25¢ an hour. MEGAYSSEY stated the plaver had to pay the price of winning at any cost so the team would have a chence of being on television once a year and mavbe a bowl game, which would make_the Athletic Department a total of about $450,000. MEGAYSSEY basically advocated change and not the continued exploitation of athletes. — did not feel MEGASSEY talked militantly. ey: next to speak was CONALL Db. O'LEARY, a raduate student, who mostly talked against WADE STINSON, KU Athletic Director, for not permitting the use of the stadium. O'LEARY stated he received a cal] the night before from ABBIE HOTFMAN. O'LEARY. stated HOFFMAN would probably have called GOLDBERG, butthe KU Athletic Department has refused to give him a phone. O'LEARY stated HOFFMAN said he, HOFFMAN, could not be there as he had to stay and help because of sister ANGELA DAVIS having just been arrested. HOFFMAN supposedly gave the Yippie support behind GOLDBERG. ae. SMYTH, whe has been described as former -Amer1 unior College Halfback and presently editor of "Daily Cal" newspaner at the Universjty of California at Berkeley, was the next speaker. MYTH also talked of changes in athletics. - MYTH did not appear to be overly militant, 4 fou anguage, and he does recall that SMYTH ended his speech by saying that the Fagle was the emLlem of the Romars and the Eagle is the emblem of the U. S., "Fall motherf-----~ . a: COLDBERS was the last speaker an e recalls that GOLDBERG declared JACK SCOTT as the chairman of the Woodstock Nation Athletic Association. GOLDBERG proclaimed MEGAYSSLY the first to the Hall of Fame of the Woodstock Nation Athletic Association and gave MEGAYSSEY a e award was a cigarette, supposedly marijuana. GOLDBERG said very little of significance and not militantly in his opinion. d now residing : i save eae 0 4 hy Fe reer ov BI ey 3]
