Representatives of the following organizations were present at these mectings: Fourth Army, Armed Forees Special Wea- pons Froject, University of lew Mcxico, Fedcral Bureau of Investigation, U. S, Atomic Energy Comaission, University of California, U, 5. Air Force Scientific Advisory Board, Gcophysical Research Division Air Materiel — Comnand USAF, and the Office of Special Investicntions (IG) USAF. -A logical explanation was not proffered with respect to the origin of tho green fireballs, It was, hovever, renerally concluded thet the phene- mena existed and that they should be stuiied scientifically until these occurrenecs have been satisfactorily explained, Further, that the continued occurrence of unexplained phenomena of this nature in the vicinity of sensitive installations is cause for concern. 5. ‘The Geophysical Roscarch Division, Air Ieteric] Comnand, Cambridge, Massachusctts, has recently let a contract to Lend-Air, Ince, Holloman AFB, Alamogordo, New Mexico, for a limited scientific study of green fireballs, The results of this scientific approach to the problem will undoubtedly be of great value in determining the origin of these phenomena. _ 6. This summery of observaticns of acricl phenomens has been prepsered for the purpose of roa-cmphasizing and reiterating the fact that phenomena have continuously occurred in the New Hexico skies during the past 18 months and arc continuins to occur, and, secondly, that these phenomena are occurring in the vicinity of sonsitive mili- tary and government installations.
