ligence and investirative agencies in December 1948, it was determined
that the frequency of unexpleinoed aerial phenomena in the New Mexico area
was such that an organized plan of repertins these observations should be
undertaken. The organizetioen and physical location of wits of this Diss
trict were most suitable for collectinn these data, therefore, since
December 1948, this District has assumed the responsibility for collect-
ing and reporting tasic information with respect to aerial rhenomena
occurring in this peneral area, These reports have heen distributed to
the Air Iateriel Cermand, USAF, in accordence with Air Intelligence
Requirc:rrents Ho, 4, and to other intercsted military and government

2, There is attached, as a part of this summary, a compilation of
serial phenomena sifhtings that have. occurred mostly in the New Hexico
area and have been reported by this District Office subsequent to
December 1948, This compilation of siphtings is not a complete record
_of all reported observations, but includes only those in which sufficient
informtion was available: te justily their inclusion. The observers of
these phenomena include scientists, Special Agents of the Office of co
Special Investications (1G) USAF, airline pilots, military pilots, Los td
Alamos Security Inspretors, military personnel, and many other persons
of varicus occupations whose relioliliby is not questioned. This. come
