Facts: 4 lead had been set out to obtain the address of QP but apparently due to the normal delinquency tn the Memphit ce, the lead wes not covered. It would have been had the inveatigation not been terminated by Department orders. rT On October 6, 1947, the Director sent a letter to arshall potnting out the motters noted above concerning the dumm -::. and defending our position and denying his alle- gatione, In this letter the Director suggested that in the futu complainta recetued by Marshall concerning the FEI should be called to the Director’s attention so that an appropriate inguir: econ be mode. The Director etated, "I believe this will be ef- fective tn getting results which I am sure both you and I de- aire,” 4 Monroe, Georgia, Lynching dllegation: On December 27, I946, Marehall wrote to the Attorney General potnting out that he, Marshall, agreed to bring to the Attorney General's personal attention matters which offect Negro fn connection with the Department of Justice.
