Mr. Joseph Anshey, Security Office, State Department, informed
= this morning that the State Department files on the cases mentioned by
enator McCarthy, and which were transferred to the White House, are now being
ehecked over very carefully by former investigators of the old Truman Sgnate
mittee, The State Department anticipates that, after this review, the Tyding
Committee will be permitted to lock at summaries prepared by the investigato:

Now that the "heCarthy" case files have been transferred to the Whi'te House
the State Department is working on 385 loyalty case files (not mentioned by MeCart hy’,
and will also transfer these files to the White House when they have been collected
from the various Divisions in the State Department, tabulated, and summaries prepared
