He has never been arrested or involved in any kind of trouble, sor hava any monbers of his family. He tekea an ocoabfonsl social drink of Liquor. He typewrites. poorly with the touch system. He has hed no training or exrerience with firearms. Be drives en automobile. He has no relatives in the Government service. Applicant attended public grecner sehool at Yorbs Linda, G hifornia, and high school at Fullerton end Whittier, o-Lifernis, graduating from the latter school \in 1930, thereefter enteri:s the Whittier, College where he was awerded an’AS Degree in 1934, havins mejored in nists. He then “er enrolled in the law sehool at Duke University, receiving an “LL.B Degree . in June, 1937. He vlens to take the Califcrsia Bar examination commencing on September 7, Lei, Arplieant's chic? exployment during his spere time from his atudies and during his ®acetions hes been with his father who operates a grocery store. He claims, however, that in the Sumer of 1931 he worked et time for the Waittier College, interviewing prospective students. (This work was done under the supervision of the Acting Fresident at thet time, a Dr. Merbert Harria. He claims thet in the Swmers of 1952 and i938 he rented from his father a gasoline filling station et 2706 Beet Whittier Bivd., which he operated on his own account, doing business with the Richfield Oil Produete-Co, In the Summers of 1934 and 1935 he assisted his father in the letter's groaery store. He mentioned that at the time — he wae awarded his Degree at Duke he was elected to membership in tha Order of Coif, Honorary Legal Freternity. He also mentioned that he meade the footbell squad at “nittier, playing on it for four years abe did not receive a letter. The applicant learned of this 5uresu through a talk mace by SAC J. A. Snith at Duke University. He is not acquainted w with any Special Agents of the Bureat. nor employes of the Derartment of Justice. Result of dictation test: Good. Fair. Poor. Bureau test rating %.
