PAUL ROBESON and VINCENT WILLIAM HALLINEN
refused exit from the US by US INS at Blaine,
2/1/52. JOHN GRAY, advance publicity man for
ROBESON, was in contact with some of the leading ~—~~-°U TT
CP members, Seattle, prior to ROBESON's subsequent
appearances, ROBESON sang to and addressed a rally
held at International Peace Arch, Blaine, Washington
5/18/52, attended by from five to ten thousand
persons. Appeared in concert at Seattle Civic
. Auditorium 5/20/52 before 1,723 persons, No
gl disturbances occurred either at Blaine rally or
5 Seattle concert. Cancellation of lease contract
