Its objects shall be to promte the econo- mic, political, civic and social betterment of colored people and their harmonious cooperation with other peoples, in conform ity with the articles of incorporation of the Association, its constitution and by-laws, and as directed by the Board of Di- rectors of the Associction, ARTICLE II. OFFICERS Section 1 The officers of the Branch shall be a President, Vice~President, Secretary, and Treasurer; also, Officers at the option of the Branch, additional Vice~ . Presidents and an Assistant Secretary. The offi- cers shall be elected as hereinafter provided. Section 2 The duties of the President shall bes (a) To preside at meetings of the Branch and to President act as Chairman of the Executive Committee, unless the Executive Committee elects some other mem ber of its body to bd chairman, (b) To appoint all committees not directly elected by the Branch or the Executive Committee, (c) Between meetings of the Executive Committee and subject to the approval thereof, to exercies general executive authority on behalf of the Branch.
