The Nation of Islam has nine listed mosques on their web site, www.nio.com. The National Center/mosque is in Chicago. Other regional locations are Atlanta, Georgia, Houston, Texas, Miami, Florida, Washington D.C., New York, and Los Angeles, California. There are two international locations, London and Toronto, Canada. The Farrakhan mosque, Maryam is at 7351 South Stoney Island Ave, Chicago Illinois, (773) 324-6000. This is the central mosque for the NOI. The California location, Muhammad Mosque No. 27, is at 8713 S. Vermont Los Angeles, CA 90044 Phone: (323) 789- 1095, the leader is Minister Tony Muhammad. The Nation of Islam has two web sites, www.nio.org which introduces you to their religion, prior and current leaders as well as their current activities. Currently NIO owns a 1556 acre farm in southwest Georgia, Muhammed Farms. Their second web site, www.finalcall.com is where they list articles and current events relating to their movement. There are no overtly violent messages on this page. There is a listing of Farrakhan's speeches and articles that point out the problems with current government and their policy toward African Americans. There is an anit-government sentiment, and references are made to the FBI being part of the Anti-African American conspiracy. There is no official leadership structure listed on either web page. Currently the Nation of Islam has several Youth Groups. They maintain a presence at more than 40 college campuses in the United States of America and maintains international affiliates in Canada, The Caribbean, South Africa and Ghana. Information from thier web site. The Anti-Defamation League web site, lists a "Travels with Tyrants" article describing the NOI world tour of January 1996. Farrakhan's "World Friendship Tour" consisted of African and Middle eastern States. Farrakhan visited five countries in 27 days. The countries he visited are described by the US as sponsors of terrorism: Libya, Iran, Iraq, Sudan and Syria. No ‘significant contact with known terrorists was listed on the web site.
