The New York Times for Jamery 21, 1940 carried an article
stating that LILLTAN HELDIAN had contended on Jamary 20, 1940 that theatri-
cal benefits for Fimish Relief wuld give a dangerous impetus to war spirit
in this country. Miss HELLHAN explained that she had assisted in reising
funds for Loyalist Spain because she felt that a Republican victory there
would forestall a general European war, Miss HELIMAN's statement to the press
