Be Missouri, and be was turned over to the State authorities at North Kensas City, Missouri, where he wae prosecuted for automobile theft. Inquiry by this offices in connection with Hodge developed these facts several weaks ago, but no connection on his part with Miller was ee- tablished, as it waa then found that he secured the Kansas license tags in the manner outlined herein. Young was unable to furnish any additional information regerding the association of June Kathrens with Vernon C. Miller, but he steted that Kzthrens hed aprroached him shortly after the massacre on June 17, 1933, requestine that if he, Young, were ever interviewed by Federal Agents in conhection with the car sold to Miller he, Kethrens, would appreciete Young evading an admission of the actual facts, Kathrens informed Young on that occesion, according to his present stetement, that he had geen Miller only at the time when he had introduced him to Young. This eppears to be # falsehood, in view of the fact thet Kathrens and Frank B.dMulloy, a Subject in this case, are business pertners, Photographs of numerous individuels were shown to Harry S. Young on March 14th, and he selected that of YolneyoDevis, who is prominently mentioned in connection with this end the Bremer kidnaping case, as a possible likeness of the men who accompanied Miller when he sold him the Essex car. Further ovestioning of Kathrens in connection with this matter is in- tended in the near future. Very truly yours, 66 E. E, COMROY, SPECLAL AGENT IN CHARCE WFT=-c 3-Division 2-K.C,. 62-760 1-K.C. ~%=37 2-St.Paul l-Chicago.
