Maida at the hotel were unable to identify the photograrh. The hotel has a. large lobby, with the elevator and stairway in the front, both of which can be easily covered from the lobby. In the lobby also are writing © - desks, plentifully supplied with paper ani envelopes. These desks are open to the public, - that-ls, any one who wishes my help himelf. Though the referred to letter mey have teen written by a guest, it could have been written by some one from the outside. No one connected with ths hotel bad any idea by whom the letter may have been written. In the nearby neighborhood are several apartment houses. Inquiry at these found no one of Subject’s nam or aliases, nor any one named Payd or McFadden. The proprietora of these apartmmt housea were unable to identify the photograph of Galatas. - ; Arrangements were mde with Mr. Clauzade to notify Agent should any one answering the description of Galatas eppear at the Arlington Rotel, or should he obtein any information regarding him, The Sen Francisco Police have been notified of the possibility thet Galatas may be in this district, and their cooperation obtained.
