known, but at that time, it was felt that he was not Underhill and,
accordingly,-mo arrancements were made to take him in cuatedy. It
further appears that thie contact man then returned to Underhill,
who was about two Llocks distant, and in all probability advised
him the hotel could not be entered.
In view of the above condition, there appears to be little.
doutt but what the information regarding Underhill's prospective
visit was well founded. We left Poteau before daybreak on the morn~
ing of October 20, 1933, in order that the local condition would not
be disturbed. I intend to keep in close contact with Under-Sheriff
Lee Babt, inasmuch as it appears that the chances of apprehend ing
Underhill through these sources appear to be excellent.
