Smith at Chicago over long distance telephone from the St. Louls Division office on the night of October 6, 1933, . regarding Louie’Stacci, one of the defendants in this case. About September 18, 1833, accompanied by Special Agent oc W. F. Trainor, I interviewed Stacci at the Jackson County Jail, in an endeavor to ascertain whether he might be willing to moke - gome statement which would be of value to the solution of this case. At that tize, Stacci was more cr lesa non~committal.
