Ot . July 22, 1933. 7 wwe ‘ MEMORANDUM ~ Telephone Call. oe Mr Acuff of the office of the Special Agents, Bureau of Prohidi- - tion telephoned. He advised that he had received a report from his sen in Alabama which indicates’ that their informant has some information which might be of interest in connection with the murder of Special Agent Caffrey in Kansas City. He advised that he will send the correspondence in this matter to the Bureau, but thought we would want to contact this informant as soon as possible, and was, therefore, giving this informa- tion over the telephone. The name of this informant is Clarence ve 500 Edgewood Street, Post Office Box 306, Dothan, Alabama. He 1 posed to have formerly been a liquor runner and racketeer out of Northern - Florida and Southern Alabama, and later worked as special investigator ~~ for the Governor of Alabama. While engaged in the racketeering business he says he knew FloydXsruce and Rey[Bruce, who are no located in St. Louis, Missouri under assumed names. May says that in all probability Ray and Floyd Bruce have information on the killing of Agent Caffrey end that they will tell him about it if they are not involved themselves. i ® 7a: Mr, Acuff suggested that May be approached through Prohibition Agent Sey James M.
