Shawnee Oklahoma, July 5 1933. - To whon this may concern: Frenk Brown Jr., of Shawnee was employed by me during my term as sheriff of Pottawatomie county and will say that he is a good faithful officer. He is a young man 39 years old, has a good education, I always found his returns made out correctly and he was especially careful in serving e12 papers that were given him, be was never sued during the entire four years that he worked. He is a good mixer, knows how to treat the people and was well liked by the fellow officers with whom he worked, although he generally worked alone he was always eager to assist any officer in any way. that he could. I assigned hin to criminal work altogether and when he was sent after a man he always brought him in if he could find him, he single handed arrested some of the most desperate men that we had to contend with during the oil field boom in this county, he is cool headed, quick to think, works fast, uses good judgment and is a leader when working with other officers, he has proven © be fearless and can be depended on when a man is needed that is not afraid, He is very cautious when handling prisoners and of all the men he handled while working for me he never let one escape. I had much confidence in hin especially along this line and will say that he never betrayed that confidence “in the least. You will find him trying to do the right thing eat all times and he will carry out orders just as they are given him. He likes this ind of work and I always found him trying to improve himself and the effects of his deterinination to make good was felt in my office in a material WEY « It is a pleasure for ne to reconnend this man to anyone that is looking for an experienced officer that can be trusted. I am, Yours very truly, ‘Jaf Frank Fox Former sheriff of Pottawatomle county. *Tras copy of the original."
