investigation and learned the following: a

of Wincil Urban, William Engler, Ed Wilhite, and John Lugar, the $12, 000.
cash bond for Urban was put up by one John Huber, a Court Bailiff, and a.
party named Miller, a Justice of the Peace fram St. Eomkss Mo. This bond :

revealed that this $12,000 had been placed in trust to secure Tony Scalise,
bondsman, should Wincil Urban fail to appear. On June 27, 1955, Urban | c
surrendered himself, and the bond forfeited and the money returned to the -°
alleged owner. Mr. Wright informed me that while the transaction was in. -)...
the name of John Huber, a party with him by the name of Miller, did all the | yo
talking, and seemed to be more or less familiar with legal procedure. © = *:

“I learned further that two trust vouchers were made out to Huber, one for —
' $12,000 covering the principal, and the other for $400 covering interest. ~

connected with the local court house and was arrested for embezzelment,’ "and
I believe served a short sentence or was fined, as near as I could find out.
