On November 22, 1968, eee ced Secret Service, New Haven, advised that heir o ad conducted no investigation in this matter as they were unaware of the extortion letter, Their office had not been advised of the threat or of the payoff that was to have taken place in Orange, Connecticut, On November 22, 1968, a city directory was reviewed to determine if a Pleasant Hill Road was located in Orange, Connecticut, The directory revealed that a Pleasant View Road was located in Orange but no Pleasant Hill Road. <A Pleasant Hill Road was located in Woodbridge, Connecticut which is approximately three quarters of a mile long, and one mile from the town line of Orange, This road was driven on Nuvember 22, 1968, and the exact house mentioned in the extortion letter could not be located, Although this is a new residential area, no homes appear to be recently built. No mail boxes on this road revealed any name resembling that of Merilli, On December 6, 1968, the Pleasant View Road in Orange, Connecticut, was driven and it revealed the road sign Pleasant Hill Road rather than Pleasant View Road. This road, which is approximately one mile long, is also located in a new residential area however nohomes appear to be recently built and exact location mentioned in extortion ktter could not be determined, No names on mail boxes resembled the name of Merilli.
