Assistant United States Attorney JOSEPH A. LENA,
Boston, Massachusetts, advised on October 3, 1968, that the
contents of the letter constituted a violation of the Federal
Extortion Statute and he would prosecute if the unknown Subject
could be identified.

Association, F.. MERILLI, Labor Counsels of America, Labor
Counsel le, or B.S. E.I.U
The staff of Senator EDWARD M. KENNEDY's Office,
Boston, Massachusetts, advised on October 3, 1968, that the
above names were unknown to them.
foliowing investigation was conducted by SA
at New York, New York:
On November 6, 1968, a review of New York Office
indices and New York Telephone Company directories for the
boroughs of Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten
Island, was negative under the names Merilli Syndicate,
Merilli Association, F, MERILLI, Labor Counsels of America,
Labor Councils of America, Labor Counsel 12 and Labor Council 12,
Indices contained two non-pertinent references to Building
Service Employees International Union (BSEITU), and the above-
listed telephone directories contained numerous listings for
various BSEIU locals, It is noted that there was no Local 12
or Council 12 listed for BSEIU.
