I went down and voted all by myself. Nobody bothered me or tried to make me vote one way or snother. I saw some U.U.W. men around but they did not bother m. This election was by secret ballot and I believe it was honest. "I heard of some Mine "B" men going to work at the Jefferson Mine I understood Falsetti was the boss and that the mine was never run by Elshof.. this wes in 1938. "I heard that Elshoff was prid eicher by John lewis or the U.K. to keep Hine "B' closed. I heard this back when the strixe was on. tyhen the mine reopened in 1939 I received a registered letter to come back. JI saw Falsctti and he told me that there was no place for me at that time and there wis c list waiting for places to be opened up to go to work. I told him I wes working et Fariner Creck and I would go back there and come back later, he agresd to tuis and the next summer when Panther Creek shut dovm I went and asked for the job and he ssid he had no job for me, this was about April or May of 1940. I heard at thet same time that Mine “BY was hiring U.M.v. men. Nothing vas said about wages or 25 to which union I wes a member of. I have not be2n back to Mine tR since.
