INTERVIEN WITH In view of the fact that Mr. BAJQRE stated that he

contacted Mr, KLEITER advised that all files pertaining to the Mine “B"
matter, inGiuding the informal file which would contain notes and memos
of the neetings with Mr. BAJORK or other officials of the NLRB and the ~
employer and employces, had beon forwarded ts weghington approximately
one month ago and hence was not available.
Mr. EAJORK volunteered the informetion that after hie resigna-
tion from NLRB, which was given as a result of his disagreement with cer-
-tain policies and activities of the National Board in washington, he servad

accordance with the “unwritten code of all govornment men" had religiously
refrained from discussing or taking any part, or entering into any prob-
lems surrounding the Mine "B" matter. He astatcd as a matter of fact, RAY
EDMUNDSON had contacted him after his resignation from the Board in
connection with the Mine “B" mattor, but that he had religiously avoided
making any statements in connection with tne matter or giving any advice.
He stated thet during the time he was Regional Director he had alyays
attempted toe follow an unbiased course.
Mr. E&JORK was asked the hypethetical question as to what he
could have done or how the Mince "B" diapute could have beon settled. Mr.
BAJIGRK stated thet he believed the kcy to the whole matter rested with the
employer, CARL EH. ELSHOFF, who could have settled the matter ot practically
any time he desired.
In view of the fact thet most of the information submitted
above was secured after refreshing Mr, BAJORK‘s mind in connection with
the details of this matter, in view of the fact that it appears obvious
that at this time he cannot furnish more information without the 15th
Region file, and in view of the fact that it appears at this time he will
only be able to testify to matters which appear of record in the lith
Region file, no attempt was made to obtain a signed statement.
Mr. EA’CRK mokes a good appearance. He does not appoar to be >
unfavorable to the Goverrment in connection with thie matter, and it is
believed that he would make an honest effort to testify to any information
which he might have to the best of his ability. Secouse of his indefinite
menner and his apparent hazy recollection as to time and place, it is be-
lieved that he would be only an average Government witness for a man in his
