JACK SOBLE was contacted at Federal Correctional
Institution, Danbury, Conn., on 7/18/57. Upon interview,
SOBLE related that he was in a highly nervous and emotional
state as he had just been advised that he was being transferred
to West St., Detention Quakers, NYC, and because of this fact,
requested that no interview be conducted. SOBLE apoligized
for his inability to be interview wea. and stated his extreme
dislike of the conditions at West”made him dubious of future
cooperation with agents as long as he was incarcerated in
NYC.
Warden HAGESTROM advised that he had received
a wire from Washington in AM of 7/18/57, ordering SOBLE to
NYC. HAGESTROM related that he did not Imow if SOBLE’'s
transfer to NYC was permanent or not,
