commented to him that ROPERT did not work wholeheartedly.
Regarding YLYA WOLSTON, SOBLE believed that
during World War 11 he mentioned to CHKLIAPIN that his nephew
was in the army. 4e recalled that CHALIAPIN then requested
him to contact the nephew (YLYA WOLSTON) and have WOLSTON
furnish information. SOBLE said he spoke to WOLSTON .
at SOBLE's apartment while WOLSTON on leave; explained»
to WOLSTON he was working for Soviets and would like WOLSTON to
furnish him with info re his army assignments. SOBLE said .
he told WOLSTON any info furnished by him would be delivered
to the Soviets. SOBLE recalled that WOLSTON typed up info
in SOBLE apartment re Camp Ritchie and then signed report.
SOBLE said reports consisted of names and personnel, probably
of Russian-Americans at camp with WOLSTON.
SOBLE recalled paying WOLSTON $20 to $40 for
expenses but not certain es to whether he paid this
money to WOLSTON on this occasion on on subsequent meeting.
SOBEE recalled WOLSTON gave him a signed receipt
for the money received; receipt was signed in the Name Le
WOLSTON. SOBLE stated he was never instructed by the
Soviets to pay WOLSTON money.
SOBLE stated WOLSTON supplied information to Him
on return from Alaska on wmrecalled date but prior to
WOLSTON trip to San Francisco in 1945, for UN conference.
SOBLE claimed he could recall no further details
regarding WOLSTON meeting with CHALIAPIN meeting in 1945
