SOBLE was requestioned on matter previously discussed for more specific detailed information. SOBLE said he did not know the manner in which JACOB ALBAM established contact with the Soviets upon arrival in US, Beptember 1947. SOBLE said that in early 1950, ALBAM expressed disappointment in Soviets and told SOBLE they had promised him diamonds as a means of financing his activities. The nature of these activities woknown to SOBLE. ALBAM told SOBLE he never received the diamonds. SOBLE stated that upon his retirnito US, 1950, he told ALBAM he had received instructions from Soviets. to ake over ALBAM as an agent. ; SOBLE stated that upon his return to US, 1952, ALBAM told him he had not yet been naturalized. SOBLE suggested ALBAM hire an attorney to check on his status.
