Rosendahl, of the Naval Air Stetion at Lakehurst, New Jersey, contacted Special Agent in Charge Devereaux by telephone and advised that a chemist associated with the Pureau of Mines and Explosives who receives conm= pensetion from the Association of Railroads in the eastern part of the United States, had made an examination of the gas valve which had been located by Dr. ludwig Duerf chief Construction Engineer of the German Zeppelin Transport Company, and had determined that the foreign substance present on the valve head was not sulphur or any active acid.
